It's not a digital watch
The Guide chimed in, offering an overly cheerful footnote: “Disaster Area, fronted by the enigmatic and slightly pyromaniacal Hotblack Desiato, is a band whose performances are legally classified as Weapons of Mass Destruction in 47 star systems. It is strongly advised that anyone within range of an unscheduled Disaster Area concert vacate the area immediately, or at the very least, put on a sturdy helmet and brace for impact.”
As if on cue, a soft buzzing sound began emanating from somewhere outside the kitchen window. Author ignored it at first, assuming it was a distant lawnmower or perhaps his neighbors experimenting with power tools. But the buzzing grew louder, developing a strangely organic timbre that suggested something more sinister.
Author sighed. All he wanted was a cup of tea, and now he was responsible for managing the existential beliefs of an entire civilization in a parallel universe.
“Partitioning is, at its core, a delicate art, much like balancing an egg on a spoon while riding a unicycle through a crowded spaceport. Even seasoned professionals have been known to succumb to a dark existential malaise during this process. Should you find yourself confronted with a partition overlap error, don’t panic. Simply select the option marked ‘Repartition Entire Disk’ and surrender to the inevitability of complete data annihilation.”
Author stared at the Nutri-matic and sighed. He was about to give it a sharp kick when his eye fell upon a small, highly questionable book on the countertop: The Hitchhiker's Guide to NixOS. The cover was an unassuming shade of dark blue with bold, comforting white text that read, “Don’t Panic.” Below that was a small addendum in parentheses which added, “(Unless you don’t know what you’re doing, in which case, definitely panic).”
